Karl Doerre

Karl E. Doerre

President

As owner and founder of Doerre Construction Co., LLC, Karl Doerre has over 33 years of construction experience, including that of estimating, project management and executive leadership. Prior to starting Doerre Construction Co., LLC in 2000, Karl was a managing partner in two Charlotte general contracting firms where he directed the overall business operations. Karl has over 17 years experience as owner of a general contracting company. His career experiences include construction of all types of projects including the Southeast’s largest automobile dealership, mixed use office/retail/residential, historic renovation projects, restaurants, skilled nursing facilities, a 480 man correctional facility, and a 360 unit lifecare facility.

Starting with a single $137,000 construction contract in May of 2000, Karl has spearheaded the growth of Doerre Construction Co., LLC to a well-known and respected general contracting business. Today Karl continues to lead the company’s strategic business decisions and steady growth as a contractor and corporate citizen.

Karl holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a licensed general contractor in NC, SC, VA, OH and MD.

David Harker

David Harker

Senior Project Manager

Since joining Doerre Construction in 2003, David has been instrumental in managing and growing Doerre’s interior upfit division. With over 11+years in the construction industry, David has successfully completed over $60 million of complex interiors projects including office, retail, mixed use, and historic renovations. As senior project manager, David is responsible for leading the planning and construction of projects while adhering to strict quality standards, budgets, safety and project schedules.

David holds a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology and French from The University of the South, Sewanee, is Green Advantage (Commercial) certified and a licensed general contractor in the state of North Carolina.

Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson

Project Manager

Michael brings over 14 years of construction industry experience to his project management role at Doerre Construction, including 12 years of project management and business development experience with a regional North Carolina Design/Build firm. Michael’s expertise includes construction management of multi-million dollar office, medical, retail, church, warehouse, and industrial projects. Michael is responsible for leading Doerre’s out-of-the-ground new construction contracts where he manages all aspects of the project from estimating and contract management to quality assurance and cost accounting.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and holds certification for the OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training.

Ruben Torres

Ruben Torres

Project Manager

Serving his construction clients for over 11 years, Ruben has always held himself to the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction. Working on projects such as heavy retail, multi-family developments, engineered deep foundations, restaurants, interior office construction and renovations, Ruben has gained a wide range of construction experience. For over 3 years, Ruben has applied his experience working as a project manager to build relationships and ensure the successful completion of Doerre’s projects. As a project manager Ruben is responsible for taking projects from their inception to their conclusion including conceptual budgeting, estimating and construction closeout documentation.

Ruben holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, a Master of Business Administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte, a certification in the Firestop Instruction Training Program and is Green Advantage (Commercial) Certified.

Matt Doerre

Estimator/Project Manager

Matt worked part-time in both the field and office since Doerre’s start in 2000. He joined the leadership team of the Company in 2006 after graduation from college. Matt manages all aspects of out-of-the-ground construction projects, from estimating and scheduling, to cost analysis and quality control. Matt also assists the interior upfit division on the estimating of new projects.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management from North Carolina State University and certification for the OSHA 10-hour safety training.

Marsha Fitzgerald

Controller

Marsha has been a core member of the Doerre Construction team since its inception in 2000. With over 20 years of controller experience in the construction industry, her expertise spans all aspects of accounting operations from the preparation and reporting of financial statements to payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Marsha plays a key role in Doerre’s employee relations as well as managing the company’s general liability and workman’s compensation insurance, benefits and human resources. Prior to joining Doerre, Marsha worked in a similar capacity directly under Karl Doerre since 1994.

Marsha holds a Certificate in Construction Management from UCR, Riverside, CA and is a World Champion Water Skier and a 2008 Inductee into the Water Ski Hall of Fame.

Kurt Catone

Business Developer

Kurt serves as the Business Developer for Doerre Construction and is responsible for establishing and maintaining long-term business relationships with the company’s clients. Kurt provides a proactive approach to customer service through ongoing communication, personal follow-up, as well as prompt attention/resolution to any concerns or issues. Kurt brings with him prior experience working as a project manager and assisting with the estimating department.

Kurt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on Marketing from The University of Georgia.
