History

Doerre Construction Co. (DCC) was founded by Karl Doerre in 2000 in Charlotte, NC and opened its doors with eight full time employees. DCC began with an initial focus on historic renovations, office, retail, and restaurant construction and the vision to build a quality product at a fair price. Client satisfaction would always be put ahead of maximizing the bottom line — a fundamental value that still holds true today.

Although the original business plan was to maintain a small general contracting business between $8 and $10 million, Doerre decided to grow its capabilities by adding an interior upfit division in 2003. In the subsequent years, more team members were added as business continued to steadily grow. By following Doerre’s business philosophy of do the right thing, the company soon grew into a sizable general contractor employing 40 individuals with annual revenue of approximately $40 million.

Today, Karl Doerre still personally manages a select few construction projects while maintaining the steady growth and direction of the business. The DCC motto, "We’re honest and we got brains," reflects Doerre’s belief in thinking before acting and doing the right thing. This cornerstone principal has been fundamental in cultivating DCC’s valuable client relationships which have been, and will continue to be, the foundation of its success.
